Maxwell Park Neighbors:
Here
are a couple Maxwell Park happenings.
On
Sunday, June 26th, we’re celebrating our first
year of marriage and ministry in Oakland. After the
10:30 worship service, we will be hosting a jazz luncheon.
It will be a great time to celebrate with our new West
coast friends & neighbors. You'll enjoy our praise-filled
worship service, the multitalented Miracles of Faith
Jazz Band, a delicious catered meal, lively conversations,
and our lovely East Bay Weather. If you've been meaning
to check out that new church on Virginia Avenue, this
would be the perfect opportunity to do so.
We
have much to celebrate at Miracles of Faith. Our group
of steady worshippers is growing, our music team is
phenomenally talented, God has been anointing my preaching,
and several local churches have shared their mission
dollars to support our ministry. Earlier this month,
we had a great Miracle Team Retreat which gave us a
spirit-filled direction for the future of this new church
start.
This
summer We will be sponsoring a vacation bible school/summer
enrichment camp that will emphasize reading, math and
computer tutoring as well as emergence in each of the
five Fine Arts –dance, drama, music, visual arts,
& creative writing. I have been recruiting local
artists and musicians to donate their time/talent while
making a marked difference in the lives of youths in
grades 2-8. Enrichment Field Trips once a week will
also provide opportunities that Some of our urban youth
may have never experienced – horseback riding,
golfing, boating, fishing, and trips to local museums.
A summer of enrichment could make all the difference
academically in the 2005/2006 school year for our Maxwell
Park youth. These kids are used to a society that is
indifferent. Here at Miracles of Faith we want them
to find a community church that cares about the community,
especially the youth of the community. Come join us
on June 26th to learn more about this unique camp.
Mary
and I feel so blessed, and we want to share that blessing
with you. We sincerely hope to see you on June 26th.
