What You Can Expect
Based on your feedback, the MPNC is enhancing our meetings with focused areas, featuring external speakers for pertinent information on navigating city services. In our upcoming meeting, District 6 City Councilmember Kevin Jenkins will share updates from across the district and City Hall. In addition, Emilio Mena from the Department of Violence Prevention will present on the department’s public health approach to violence prevention, emphasizing an $8.8 million investment in targeted programs addressing gun, group, and gender-based violence. Mena, with extensive experience in conflict interruption, will provide insights into disrupting group-related gun violence. Lastly, following up from the September 2023 MPNC Safety Neighborhood Action Team (NAT) meeting, Nathan Greene will present survey results and proposals from the Camera and Lighting subcommittee.
